Do I need a license to sell online in Dubai? How can I register my online business in UAE?

Hello everyone!

Today I’m going to answer the question whether you need a license to start your business

in the UAE, in particular to sell goods online.

In this video, also, I would like to highlight the difference between the concepts of E-commerce

and the E-trading.

Alright, the first answer is yes, you would need the license in order to conduct the business

activity in the UAE including the e-trading or online shop as we may know.

First of all, I would like to highlight the difference between the two concepts, which

is the e-commerce and the e-trading.

E-commerce is basically a market place where the seller and the buyer make a deal directly

in return on a fixed or a flexible commission to the provider of the e-commerce.

In its turn, the e-trading concept is slightly different - you sell the products that you

finally own yourself.

So, this is the main difference between the e-commerce and e-trading.

A bright example of the e-commerce website is well known, so, there you can

clearly see that sellers online, also known as merchants, are numerous, where in comparison

of the e-trading, the seller is only a single merchant with a set of products.

There’s a number of different examples of the e-trading concepts on the internet.

In our particular case, we will consider one of the local merchants known as Brands for

In most of the cases, the e-trading concept would have its classic retail or wholesale

outlet which may be found in the streets or malls.

Now that we know the difference between the two concepts, we may discuss the prices, requirements

and the time frame to incorporate both the options.

We will start with the e-trading.

E-trading company maybe incorporated within 3 working days and this will cost you USD 4.500+

Requirements are pretty much simple, these are copy of your passport, copy of your last

utility bill, copy of your CV and bank reference letter.

E-commerce would cost slightly more expensive and it amounts to USD 8.300+.

Requirements are basically the same, which is passport copy, copy of your last utility

bill, copy of your CV and copy of your bank reference letter.

So, finally we’ve covered questions about the necessity of your business license in

order to sell online.

We have covered the questions of requirements, costs and time frame.

If you have any additional questions, please leave your comments below the video and we

will highlight the answers in our next video.
