How to sell products on WordPress?

in this video i'll show you how you can
sell digital products
from your wordpress website so what you
need to do you need to first go
to wordpress go to your dashboard and
then go to plugins
and then add new and what we're going to
be doing here we're going to be adding
woocommerce
which is a e-commerce plugin which will
allow us to sell
all of our digital products so if you go
to the search bar here and you type in
woocommerce it will be this one here
with millions of downloads you can see
it's got five million active
installations
so we're going to install that now and
i'll be back once it's installed
so once you've installed woocommerce
you'll see a page
like this so first we can go ahead and
give our store details
we can go ahead and choose a category or
an industry
choose the product type we can upload
the product and
then change the theme so i'm going to go
ahead and add my address now okay so now
we've done that we can now choose
our industry now because this is a
digital product
it might not come into any of these here
so you can just go ahead and click over
it might be an educational product so i
guess you can click that
if it fits your category but apart from
that go ahead and continue through this
now what we're going to do we're going
to uncheck physical products and we're
going to check
download downloads here because again it
is a digital product
and we can go ahead and continue because
we don't need a subscription or a
membership this
is gonna be free how many products do
you plan to display
we're just gonna do one to ten and we
are not currently selling elsewhere
and we're gonna continue i'm going to
uncheck this we don't want recommended
business features to our site and now we
can choose a theme
to go ahead and sell our products so i'm
just going to choose this storefront one
here
so we'll choose it you can use your
default wordpress theme though
that is perfectly fine okay so now we've
done that we can now add the products so
you want to go to add my products
and it's just easier if you go ahead and
start with a template
so go ahead and open up a template here
we're going to be selling
a digital product so we can then click
go and now we can
enter in the title and the description
of our product
so here we're going to go ahead and
enter in the product name
so for me i'll just call it coding
for beginners i'll just pretend to sell
a coding course
you can then add a paragraph and if you
scroll down here you can change the
category
of that product so maybe you've got more
than one product and you want to
categorize them if you keep scrolling
down here you'll have the product image
so i'm going to remove this one and i
would advise that you go and add your
own product image so i'm going to
upload some media here we're going to go
upload files
and i'm just going to choose an image
here so now we've got our coding
product image now you need to
change the price and sort out the
inventory obviously if it's a digital
product we won't need any inventory
and we need to go through these tabs
here
so the regular price you can obviously
choose that
i'm going to choose 30 pounds to be the
regular price
and you can also enter in a sale price
if you want so maybe you want a half
price
sale and you can actually schedule when
you want
that sale price to appear make sure also
that you've got
virtual and downloadable product checked
then you can scroll down and you can go
ahead
and upload your virtual product that
you're trying to sell
so i'm going to remove this one here and
we've just got one product
again i'm going to call it coding for
beginners
and we can go ahead and choose a file
and again we can upload our file
so you go to upload files select files
and i've just got
my my course here in a zip file
i recommend that you zip your course up
and then upload it in a zip file as well
so we're going to click open and then we
can use that
file there okay so now we've got our
product uploaded
we can now change the download limit and
the download expiry so basically the
download limit is how many times
your customer is allowed to download
that product
so say if you only want them downloading
it one time
you can leave that on one but because
it's a virtual product
and people want it on different
computers maybe they lose it
you can just leave this empty and allow
them to download it on limited amounts
of times
or you can enter here how many days that
that product
download link is valid before they can
no longer
download it again i would just remove
this personally
but that's up to you you can then give a
description
and once you're happy with all of that
you want to scroll up
and you can just go ahead and publish
this and then we're happy with all of
that we can now go to inventory
again we don't need any inventory
inventory so
we can leave this you can give upsells
or down sales but i'm not going to get
into that that is a bit more complicated
and apart from that really that's all
you need to do
you can then go ahead and publish your
product so this is what our product
looks like again it's very basic
because we didn't add a description we
didn't put a good image
it's on sale right now so people could
just go ahead and add it to cart
and they could go ahead and buy it so
when they click on add to cart
they can then go and pay for it so they
can go to
view cart they can then proceed to check
out and pay for the product
and when they pay for it they're going
to get the download to that product that
you've uploaded
