in this video I want to give you five
tips to help you sell more prints what's
going on guys few months ago I posted a
video on my workflow
for selling prints and now that's become
a pretty popular video on this channel
so I just wanted to make another video
on selling prints this time I want to
give you five tips and I want to keep
this pretty short I want to go to you in
under five minutes so if you've been
looking to sell more prints maybe this
video I'll help ya let's jump into it
tip number one so the first tip I'm
gonna give you is to make a separate
social media account for your
photography I found this to be pretty
helpful in my journey of sound prints
I've got a separate Instagram for my
personal account as well as my
photography account same goes along for
Facebook I have my personal page and
then I made a photography page strictly
for my photography and I think if you
really want to take this seriously this
is a pretty important tip essentially if
you're selling prints you're basically
kind of running a business so you don't
really want to make personal photos with
your photography photos so this way it
looks much more professional then I've
also found if you got like a photography
page on Facebook people are more apt to
share your polls they're going to share
more of your pictures which in turn will
lead to more customers
more people seeing your work and a
little bonus tip make sure when you
share make sure your post is public
alright tip number two is to share
frequently but not really over share so
you gotta kind of find a balance here
you want to stay relevant but you don't
want to be like obnoxious and fill
everyone's speed so I found one good
quality post a day or even five times a
week
that's more than enough to stay relevant
I definitely think one good posted a
beats five mediocre posts throughout the
day and then when you do share like on
your Facebook page or whatever make sure
at the end of your post you say prints
available and then link your website if
you have one which I highly recommend
you do have a website if you're trying
to sell prints but at the bare minimum
at least just say prints are available
the third tip is to have an easy to
navigate website and you really want to
make sure that it's easy to navigate
both on desktop as well as mobile and
this part is super important because if
I go into my analytics on my website and
look at the statistics 60% of the people
viewing my website are doing so on a
mobile phone so that is definitely
something to consider wonder editing
your website you want to make sure it
looks good both on your desktop and your
phone and if your website's hard to
navigate
you're gonna lose out on a bunch of
business so make sure it's basic
straightforward e number four might come
to a little bit of surprise but shoot
local I've shot everywhere from you know
I've been to Key West
Maine Colorado Cape Cod and I've gotten
some great pictures from all those
places there beautiful places to be but
I very rarely sell prints of those
places and I think because you know more
than likely most of people following
your photography are people local
they're people from around your area or
people that have moved away from your
area and are looking to buy prints of
the place they used to live so I have
sold prints from other places but I mean
a majority of the prints I sell are from
around where I live I shoot mostly in
the Finger Lakes area and I'll also go
up to the Adirondacks which is about
three hours from where I live but I saw
a lot of that around neck prints as well
I'd say you know stay around any order
in your state you're gonna sell them
most of your photography from around
Murray look number five it's just kind
of a basic one but if you're not having
fun with what you do you know passionate
about it I don't think you're gonna sell
many prints know if you're having fun
having fun shooting your photos having
fun editing your photos people are gonna
know this they're gonna be more likely
to buy your friends so be creative be
creative on how you shoot your photos be
creative how you edit your photos and
just have fun don't stress out about it
too much and the business will come
naturally you can even get creative and
making the watermark for your pictures
this isn't only to protect your pictures
but almost like a little bit of appetite
actually little watermark I've just got
my initials enh and then I made just
kind of a cool thought made a little
logo item so that's another way pictures
might be a little eye catching but
anyway yeah just have fun with it get
out and shoot post your pictures online
that's really the customers will come
