on busy Santa Monica Boulevard and West
Hollywood
it looks more like an Apple store than a
place to score drugs no tinted windows
no burglar bars no beefy security guards
instead t-shirt and bud tenders with
iPads hybrids this is the new face of
legal weed it's exciting to be in a
world where this is becoming more normal
so you can see the way this is all laid
out it's very inviting for people and
rebranding cannabis is a challenge when
you're not legally allowed to advertise
on TV or radio
hence the bright open store you can see
them preparing orders like in a high-end
restaurant we also have these little bud
pods you can open it and get a smell of
the actual product this looks like this
is this is part of the edible section
things that don't look or smell like
weed the theory if you put cannabis into
products customers know and love they
might not be scared to try them the US
market for illegal medicinal and
recreational marijuana was six billion
dollars u.s. last year
now that the biggest state in the
country has fully legalized in ten years
that market is forecast to grow 250
billion a lot of decision makers will be
looking at this I think a lot of eyes
nationally will be on this a lot of
other states probably will be paying
close attention to what happens one of
the fastest growing demographics women
who are choosing to smoke a joint
instead of for a glass that's a big
target of ours we're trying to get rid
of stoner culture this is relatable for
everyone just because cannabis is legal
in California doesn't mean it's easy to
find the final decision rests with each
city for instance of the 88 cities in
Los Angeles County only to have approved
recreational sales the city of Los
Angeles and West Hollywood 68 year old
Trish Gardner as a recent cannabis
convert but there are still so many
unknowns she says for instance how much
can you smoke and then be okay to drive
being under the influence is going to be
an issue that's not really been
addressed
she believes legalizing cannabis may
mean more research and more answers as
for the rest sign e stores and delicious
treats are nice but the things she's
hoping for most the only thing that
really matters
I hope the price goes down Kimber uber
