here we go let rate flat rate flat rate
pricing flat rate pricing no no no rate
pricing negati a song pricey alright
that's how all of our customers are used
to buying flat rate pricing okay you're
freaking your customers out with this
time and material stuff okay Daniel says
what was a third seat boy he's someone
that's keeping track what was it third
seat consideration consideration okay
under options you got choice all right
control and consideration which
consideration is really just gives a
customer did something to consider which
is really leading to price perception
all right perspective price perspective
all right guys series taken advantage of
this time okay to raise your game all
right
flat rate pricing guys flat rate pricing
all right that's the last time that
you've gone anywhere I mean gone to the
movie theater or you know to the store
okay or Taco Bell that's my favorite
Taco Bell and they broke it down out you
know time and materials and instead of
how much they charge hourly and how much
the materials are and the rapper and
this and that labor never ever know
Annie there's your customer so this time
and material thing is an awkward thing
okay it's not a comfortable thing it
right it's really it's weird it's weird
okay and you put it in in a in a
perspective that you know you're gonna
say well we charge $200 now $200 an hour
I don't make $20 an hour you know well I
did the math Taco Bell
charges over $300 an hour for your bean
burrito for the bean burrito it was $300
an hour for my bean burrito - onions
extra cheese and sour cream okay time to
get its they're charging at least three
hundred dollars an hour and that makes
sense that's because they have all the
I'm in their expenses everything figured
into this thing okay that's what it just
comes down to okay then I'm the guy
behind the counter doesn't make 300
bucks an hour
no but and neither do you okay but
business owner but business owner right
but you tell you know it's always coming
when you throw into a time and material
thing you know it could be $50 $50 an
hour I remember when I first started
plumbing it was $55 an hour
way back when way back when years ago
and that was high in our area $55 an
hour
for 30 years I've been here on that you
know $85 an hour $125 an hour $250 an
hour you know it will never it will
always be that guys okay you you aren't
worth you know just not you aren't worth
that okay in their minds okay and so to
even trying to have that conversation
and then and try to say well here's what
it cost to operate and it don't matter
okay and it's just weird it's just weird
flat rate okay Tom Toby says I'm having
a hard time with flat rate pricing when
doing hydro-jetting jobs hmm come house
come that's it that's in your head okay
you know you just take the you know
different types of Hydra you know the
different the different sizes the
different lengths you know that kind of
stuff all right okay you have a few
different flat rate prices for the
different types of jobs right right okay
all right your customer and your
customers are comfortable with that it's
scary when you say well even if they buy
into you know so you know we're 150
bucks an hour $100 an hour and you guys
that are charging Oh
hundred bucks an hour guys is dead
you know well I'm not I'm not a big guy
like those big guys those big guys can
afford we can learn an academy by the
way with you know you can see when you
really know learn how to make your
hourly rate that it costs the big guys
less to operate our leave and what it
costs you yep okay but yet those guys
are charging you know three four five
times as much as you an hour and they
have plenty of customers happy customers
and lots of happy guys working for them
and nice equipment alright and everybody
okay probably insurance and all that
kind of stuff
all right okay but your customers are
used to it's it's more comfortable with
the flat rate because it's it's you know
here's how what to how much the job cost
and so they can throw up on that you
know you know okay three hundred and
seventy nine dollars okay all right it's
not well we charge hundred fifty dollars
an hour for the first hour then it's 70
73 cents after every second times a
minute and fine you know and every
little pointing in materials so that's
why the guy you know they're watching
how long you spin out the truck and
where you're going from there they're
uncomfortable and nervous they know
you're gonna take advantage of them
right they when you're doing hourly time
and material the customer believes
you're taking advantage of them right
okay whereas just give me the flat rate
which is common you're used to walking
into you know Walmart you know on and
how much how much is the toilet paper
you know it's $150 for that eight-pack
okay all right
