did you know this hack to make money
with your camera look you take the
battery or out then you insert a coin
now go shoot and when you're done
shooting look at all the money you just
made this is incredible it's that easy
to make money as a photographer you can
even do it from your couch just keep
inserting coins in your camera and
you'll be making over a thousand dollar
a day i can guarantee you all right
jokes aside guys welcome to this video i
want to talk to you about how to make
money as a photographer investing time
and effort into it because nothing comes
easy nothing comes magic in life we've
all seen those ads just bought this uh
new lamborghini here don't believe it
you gotta grind but that's why we grind
on something that we love so it's
actually easier so five techniques for
you to make money and make sure you
watch until the end for the bonus that
will reveal how to sell your art even if
you have zero audience no one knows you
this is a technique that came from
another photographer very well
established and it works so don't miss
it so let's get started and if you don't
know me my name is pierretti lambert i'm
a travel adventure photographer and the
creator of the 30 day adventure to great
photos a method that has helped over 2
500 students around the world to become
better photographers many of them
actually became professionals and this
is actually how i validated some of this
method because some of them use them
exclusively to make money personally i
also went from pure amateur to shooting
portraits making money shooting weddings
and then getting into also b2b and then
became a travel photographer and then
social media youtube also took a big
chunk into my life so those five methods
are very wide-ranging for all types of
personalities so while we get started
let's thank our sponsor of the day
wirestock.io whose solution i'll explore
in just a few minutes so method number
one to making money as a photographer
with the camera is to print your
beautiful images
what does it mean to print them not to
print them to keep but print them to
sell the pros of becoming an artist
photographer who sells his art printed
is that you can do things that are truly
dear to your heart you can work on
personal projects and use that
signature as an artist to actually
catapult you in front of people have
collectors who want what you create the
messages that you vehicle and all that
now one of the biggest con of doing so
is that you don't have a specific
structure to follow it's hard to know
when you start a project if you'll be
able to sell the images or not if
they're gonna resonate with people you
have to become a brand
a name that everyone can recognize you
need to have a signature that if i
present you a hundred photos you'll be
able to pick exactly which ones are for
me which aren't are from another
photographer and if you you're incapable
of doing that or understanding stories
behind images or all the themes of the
images i think it will be very hard for
any collector to be interested in your
work building yourself as an artist
being established being known in your
community is a lot of work but it's one
of the aspirations we all have as
photographers taking photos we love and
having people wanting to buy them right
when you're printing don't go cheap use
the best paper it's going to last the
longest and remember your buyer is going
to be the most impressed when you
deliver something of high quality now if
no one knows you but you still want to
sell your prints at the end of this
video i will give you techniques that
works came from another photographer
it's pretty awesome and i think you will
love it now if you're living in the 21st
century like me and you want to take a
modern spin on being an artist
photographer you can try method number
two which is selling photography nfts
okay what are nfts they're non-fungible
tokens they allow you to create digital
assets with a limited supply and also a
traceability meaning just like in the
real world where you would have only
five of those prints available in that
size you can actually set that also in
the digital world and people will
collect it see in the metaverse see it
in in virtual galleries and start
collecting there's a real movement if
you think it's a scam i highly encourage
you to dig a little deeper into it i
have a separate video uh talking about
the whole space i personally had two
collections the first one that sold a
few pieces and the second one that still
open and i'm super excited i'm sharing
art that i love and i'm leaving it open
for those who want to collect it's the
one i did in the marquesas and it's
linked to docu-series that i did while i
was shooting there so how do you get
started what are the pros what are the
cons in that nfc space well the pros is
that you can do everything digitally
right you don't need to print you don't
need to deal with physical things you
can actually sell your art and it can be
resold meaning you can get a profit even
after you your first sale which is kind
of mind-blowing if you think about it
there is no problems of shipping or
anything now the cons is that there's a
lot of people in that space it's hard to
have your voice heard and it requires as
much time and effort as for finding
buyers for prints but this time digital
the collectors are people involved in
that space and you find them mainly on
twitter and another side is in discord
channels and your role is going to be
sharing your story as much as possible
sharing your art it's always the key to
succeeding in those spaces as an artist
it is your story your story is
everything it is your identity they want
to know who you are why you created this
and what this art means a great example
of someone who sold millions in the
space of nft photography is isaac wright
aka at drifter shoots who uh was
arrested for rooftoping a few years ago
that made a little splash in the
photography community he went to jail
came out of it and then started
resharing his art and it helped him pay
his lawyer fees debt and all that and
honestly his story is really strong and
he's been using it in a very wise way
that's how he got his name out so don't
dismiss how important your story is
versus just the visuals that you're
sharing now let's talk about three
methods that are completely different
that don't require you to be an artist
or trying to find an audience of
collectioners so method number three
grab your camera get out there take even
your phone and start shooting stock
photography and even stock videos what
does it mean it means taking photos and
making them available for other people
to license them and for that we're so
lucky because there is a lot of
platforms that are actually selling
stock photography which means you don't
have to do the heavy lifting of finding
buyers the platforms do that for you
your role is to take the photos that
people will the most likely want to use
and for stock photography to know what
to shoot or what to share highly
recommend you to see what sells the most
there are websites to track that and
obviously during the panama it was
people with mass people working from
home the other beautiful thing with
stock photography is that you can use
previous assets that you already shot
and then make them available i actually
had photos like that and video clips
that made money i made a few hundred
dollars and i would have never used
those clips otherwise i set them up and
then boom someone bought it twist
someone is eating an ice cream it may be
a few hundred dollars how cool is that
now the best way to get started i would
recommend you is to use wirestock.io to
get on all the platforms you get a
global distribution to all major places
shutterstock getty images adobe stock
alami pond5 dreamstead and many more
it's super easy to submit your images
high quality keywording and captioning
for each photo and video is free and
they do it for you that's pretty cool
because it takes a lot of time
everything is handled from a single
account all payments are sent to that
single account it's draggable on your
one dashboard you don't need to go to
all those different sites to manage it
and you can have your wire stock
portfolio creators are given individual
portfolio which they can use as personal
shops to sell content directly as
collection individually or as prints
that's pretty cool because it goes back
to method number one and last but not
least if you're wondering curious about
the fees well wire stock commission is
15 percent of the paid royalties meaning
they only make money when you make money
and the rest of the 85
is sent to your balance that's really
cool i highly recommend you to check
them out i'll put a link in the
description if you want to get started
in an easy way it's a no-brainer way
really start using the photography that
you have laying around put it up there
check why you're stuck that io i have a
lot of friends who actually made money
with like random photos that are being
used across the world now if like me you
like to speak you like people well
method number four is for you and it is
to do personal shoots you could be
making 500 or a thousand dollar this
weekend even if you're not established
as a portrait photographer how you may
ask well let me tell you portrait
photography is awesome and a lot of
people want to have their portraits done
well for social media for dating apps
for linkedin
for professional reasons or just for
memories with the dogs with their kids
and that's where you come in if you have
some knowledge and you like to do
portraits go and talk with your friends
around and let them know that this
weekend you're doing a special and
you're offering a portrait session let's
say between 4 p.m and 6 p.m and every
portrait is 50 per person or whatever
your market is if you want to place it
higher or lower you take the photos they
get the photo a day later or two days
later and that's it it's a no-brainer
they'll be happy to have something good
looking and you set that up in a park or
in a cool location that you know it took
you 5-10 minutes per person and just
like that with 10 people you can make
500 that's really cool if you don't know
where to find those people highly
recommend you to ask friends to actually
share that information maybe make a
small image or pdf and send it to them
on whatsapp tap into local dog groups
because people love their dogs and they
might want portrait with a dog or you
can tap also into daycares if you're a
parent if you have kids talk to other
parents and share it with them ask them
to put place the word out in their
personal facebook feeds i can guarantee
that you will get people like that i got
people like that in the past and it's
super fun you're having a good time
you're taking those photos people
have photos that they would never
thought of and you just made a little
extra bucks to buy a new lens or to get
you started into that professional world
now last but not least let's talk about
commercial shoots as method number five
instead of talking to individuals you
can go and talk to businesses right you
can go to your local coffee shop real
estate agent bar restaurant and ask them
if they have needs for photography
literally walk in with your camera show
them your portfolio tell them hey i know
how to shoot this kind of things and i
would love to do it for you this is
going to cost you 150 bucks you're going
to get 10 images in three hours if you
don't believe it works look at this
video from north border he did that in
australia he walked into dealerships and
one of them actually ended up accepting
and i've seen people do it with coffee
shops i've actually ended up doing it
randomly for for restaurants where we
take really good photos and they
actually ask you so it's really not that
difficult you just need to put a little
bit of effort into finding those people
and getting out there and talking to
them now i promised you a special
technique if you have zero audience if
you don't know anyone but you want to
sell your prints so here is the secret
technique that came right from nigel
danson if you know him that has worked
several times for him and this is how it
works if you're shooting in a city on an
area and you take a really good photo
let's say you're in notre dame paris and
you take that photo from the sen well to
sell that print with no one knowing you
you can literally go to facebook and
instagram and create an ad and target
people in that specific area the people
who live where you took that photo you
create the ad and you write special
limited edition of that print get a
print for your home before they run out
and that's it nigel sold several dozen
copies of those prints and i can tell
you if you're selling them 250 350
per images it adds up very quickly
obviously it depends on the cost of your
print for me a little rule of thumb is
keeping the cost of printing actually
being 30
max of the price i'm gonna be selling an
image because there is so much more work
that's involved that's obviously not
considering the cost of that image well
there's a lot to digest if any of those
methods work for you let me know in the
comments but remember the first step is
getting your skills to the next level
this is why i built the 30 day adventure
to great photos it is designed to unlock
your inner photographer in order to get
to that professional board if so you
desire now get out there go shoo try
something different try something new
thank you so much for being here i love
you all i'll see you in the next one
