hey guys this video is going back
to the basics i'm actually going to show
you how to make your ebay account into a
seller account
and then link it to your paypal account
we're going to go over some policies
such as the return policy
as well as your own account policy on
ebay
so let's go ahead and jump into that
presentation now
all right guys so step number one is
creating an ebay account which is super
simple
you're going to go ahead and jump into
the ebay website
and in the top left corner you have the
option to click sign in
or register you can go ahead and click
on the sign in option
here on the create an account page
you're going to fill in some information
about yourself
such as your name your last name your
email address
and of course your password once you do
all of that you're going to click on
create an account
and with that one click you have your
very own
ebay account ready to use one thing that
i would like to mention
is if you already have an ebay account
that you've
been making purchases from you might
already have
some type of feedback score so i suggest
you start using that ebay account
because of the feedback score now even
though that feedback score does come
from
purchases instead of selling items some
people
don't really know how to check those
scores and why you have such a feedback
score
so it will just make you look a lot more
trustworthy as a seller to your buyers
and not only do you look trustworthy to
your buyers
you're also trustworthy to ebay the
older the account the more trust it has
built with ebay already and that's
actually a huge part of being a seller
on ebay
is gaining their trust so again if you
do have an ebay account with an
okay feedback score or even a great
feedback score
use it to your advantage and because you
will probably be using ebay for selling
instead of buying for your business
there is a difference and i'm actually
going to show you what that difference
is
so now because you are selling on ebay
you
are required to give ebay a little bit
more information about yourself
you're going to go ahead and jump into
my ebay
and you're going to click on selling
here you will also need to provide some
information
such as the country or the state that
you are coming from
your address additional information
which is optional city state province or
region
and of course postal code so when you
have all of that information
click on continue and there you have it
welcome to your selling overview
this ebay selling overview is kind of
like the outdated version of trying to
keep all of your active listings
your sold items or your unsold items
now there is one more option that ebay
gives you
and it's called my ebay seller hub which
you can only access
after making your first sale on ebay so
let's now say you've made your first
sale on ebay
you're going to go ahead and jump into
google and you're going to type in the
search bar
my ebay seller hub the seller hub is a
more
updated version of the ebay seller
overview
in my opinion it's a lot easier to use
so again
once you make your very first ebay sale
you're going to go ahead
and click on start using seller hub
and because we do not have any sales at
the moment on this
ebay we get a warning message where it
says we can't put you
into seller hub until you do sell at
least one item
but again once you do sell your first
item you have the
option to use seller hub on ebay and of
course if you don't like the ebay seller
hub
you can always go back to my ebay
selling overview
alright guys so in the next step i'm
going to show
you how to link your ebay account
to your paypal account and the reason
why ebay wants you to link
your ebay account to your paypal is
because they need a method
to charge you for all of their ebay fees
so before we start you will need to have
a paypal account set
up so if you do not have one yet please
go ahead and set up a paypal account and
then come back to this video
all right so now that you have your
paypal account all set up
first things first select this dropdown
select account settings
once here in my ebay you're going to go
under account
and right under payments you have paypal
account
click on that to get more options if you
did already make your paypal account
you can just link your paypal account
once you click on link my paypal account
you will have to sign in again to ebay
to make changes to your account
and then go ahead and click sign in
once you have your password after all is
said and done
when you log into your ebay account this
paypal login will come up
you will type in your email password and
click login
you will get a message where it says
you're almost done linking your accounts
you have successfully signed up for
paypal with a credit card you will just
click on return to ebay now
once you select return to ebay it will
bring you back to my ebay
in order to check if your ebay account
is linked to your paypal account
go to personal information on the left
side
you will have some options and you have
this paypal
account option here which will show you
if you are linked
and of course it says your ebay account
is
linked to this paypal account for
purchases
there you have it it's really as simple
as that and of course if you're a little
bit unfamiliar with the ebay fees
make sure to read up on that or check
out our youtube videos that we have
up just to know what they're charging
and how much they're charging
for their services and fees for the
third topic of this video we're going to
go over configuring payment
in return policies on ebay first thing
you will need to do
is go ahead and open google and type in
ebay business policies
click on the business policies of ebay
once here you will find the opt-in
link go ahead and click on it and from
here you're going to go ahead and click
on get started
you might be presented with a warning
don't let that scare you off because
this is a glitch in the system
and it's been there for a really long
time in reality it all works just fine
here on the left you will see business
policies for this step you're going to
go ahead and jump into account settings
again
i don't know how closely you were paying
attention before but
if you remember just a bit ago in my
ebay we did not have business policies
now we do it's right here located under
selling
this allows you to go ahead and enter
into the business policies from the
account setting
from now on in order to manage your
business policies jump into business
policies and create a policy
in order to create a policy you're going
to go ahead and go into this drop down
which is the create policy drop-down and
the first policy we are going to create
is the payment policy
now to mention there will be different
policies
now again it all depends on the supplier
that you're working
with so if you're working with
aliexpress or maybe amazon
they all have different policies such as
different return policies
different shipping times different
prices
but the payment policy is the same for
every supplier and the reason for that
is because the payment policy only
really depends on how you handle your
payment policy
so here because the policy is all
depending on you you can name the policy
whatever you would like
for this example i'm just going to name
it payment policy for the policy
description there is really no need to
add anything
i will set it as my default policy
because most chances are
i will only have one below you have the
option to select at least one payment
method so go ahead and select paypal
you're going to fill out your paypal
account as well as your email address
once you have your email address in for
your paypal account
check it double check it and triple
check it and this is because your
payments
may go to someone else if you do not
have the correct
email address once you have your email
address
you will select the require immediate
payment when buyer uses buy it now
the reason why we select the immediate
payment when buyer uses
buy it now is because when a buyer on
ebay selects your item as buy it now
puts it in their cart but does not at
the end
purchase it it will still act as an
open transaction and when a lot of
people have open transactions
with you it will show you on ebay
that you do have open transactions which
is not a good thing you obviously do not
have to fulfill those orders
but if you do allow them to open without
paying it will
just be a pain because you will have to
chase them down
for those payments eventually now
checking that little box will save you a
ton
of headache if a buyer does decide to
open up your item
put it in their cart they will be
required to type in their credit card
information
and if they do in the end decide to
check it out
the payment will go through if not it
will automatically just close up
and you'll have nothing to do with it
these other options you see
here are actually not relevant to us so
this is actually
all that you have to do to create a
payment policy
and it's super simple once you have all
the required information filled out
save all of your information and with
that you have successfully created a
payment policy
now to create a new policy which is the
return policy
the return policy is a little bit more
complicated but it's still
very simple so again you give it a name
such as
return policy for aliexpress and again
no one can see the policy
name this is just for you so you might
actually have a return policy for amazon
you might have a policy for aliexpress
this policy name is just for you for
easier navigation
set as default return policy below we
have domestic returns
accepted as well as international
returns accepted
you have the option to unselect these
which i do not recommend i actually
recommend you to have these available
so your buyers see that you accept
returns
making it easy for the buyer to decide
whether they want to buy the product
from you or not
at the bottom we have after receiving
the item your buyer should contact you
within
you have the option to select 14 days 30
days
as well as 60 days ebay does not like
the 14 day return policy they would much
rather prefer the 30 day policy just
because it's easier for everyone
down below we have the return shipping
will be paid by
buyer and this is only if the buyer has
a not so valid reason why he's giving
their product
back such as changing his mind if the
buyer decides to change his mind
doesn't like the product anymore the
buyer will be paying for the return
shipping but if the buyer gets a broken
product a wrong product or anything that
has to do with your
end you will be responsible for paying
the returned
shipping select 30 days for
international returns
and return shipping will be paid by
buyer again
if it's an invalid reason as to why the
buyer
is returning the product and just to
make it clear domestic returns
is everything inside of the united
states
and international is actually every
other country
not including the united states so
domestic
united states international every other
country besides the united states
also you have the replacement or
exchange available i suggest you check
those as well because sometimes it's
better
to speak with your buyer and come to an
agreement when it comes to the product
instead of giving your buyer a refund
and some people
actually prefer the replacement or
exchange instead of the refund
and once you have all of this
information you can go ahead
and click on save so there you have it
that is how you manage your business
policies on ebay
again you can always go ahead and create
your policy with shipping
as well but for now that was it if you
