hey guys it's mindy and doug and i
just made it to nova scotia last night
this is our first day here
and we have a pretty relaxing day we're
just going to chill
near sydney until we uh have to catch
our ferry later tonight
we are taking the marine atlantic ferry
across the sea to newfoundland where we
will be spending the next week
in the meantime we are just hanging out
along the coast and uh yeah checking out
low point lighthouse
i am so excited to go to newfoundland
i've been wanting to go to newfoundland
for such a long time
ever since i saw photos of grossmore
national park i was
just entranced by it a i had never heard
of it until
just a couple years ago and b i feel
like not that many people go there
especially compared to other parts of
canada like banff everyone goes there
and yes it's gorgeous
but grossmore just seems very remote
and very untouched and i can't wait to
show you guys that
welcome to our cabin on the marine
atlantic ferry
this is our bathroom
it's an all-in-one toilet and shower
you can even take a poo
while showering multitasking
fast getting ready yeah all right and
this is my
birth slash bed apparently they're
called a birth
on a boat i have a tv
i can see the tv pretty well right there
here's my night light oh it works yeah
that's my night light
and here's my snacks and there you have
it
cabin 8109 on marine atlantic ferry
headed to newfoundland
but i also have my handy dandy
barf bag we're on the eighth floor guys
and i can feel it swaying and we haven't
even like
left the dock yet so we're not even in
open water
so yeah it's about seven hour ferry ride
and we'll arrive at seven in the morning
at port o'basquez in newfoundland
where we will drive off the ferry and
begin our way to grossmoor national park
i kinda wanna walk around the ferry a
little bit before it gets going and
before i start
feeling sick so yeah let's go check out
the ferry
let's go
so this is floor seven and this is the
main area this is where the passengers
that don't have a cabin
this is where they hang out they're
seating there's a restaurant they're
serving food right now
tv screens a microwave pretty cool
little lounge area
this is where you get late-night food at
if it's this windy i feel like that's
not a good sign
okay
man
in order to stay here just search for
the salt box
pods on airbnb the host is becky
or rebecca and there's two of them
there's a green one which we're staying
in and a yellow
one right next door this is our home for
the next three nights and four days and
we're right at the edge of grossmore
national park
right along the coast of bonbay it's
super cute
it's very small we have campground style
bathrooms
but i mean this is all we need there's a
bed right here
and then you know we have an awesome
porch and the view
i mean literally this is why i wanted it
the view woke up and you can look out
you can see dolphins
you can see seal so this is an awesome
place
the campground where this tiny home is
located is called waters edge
[Music]
right now i am at the iconic site of
western brook pond here in grossmore
national park
this is actually a freshwater
and the gorgeous fjord was actually
formed by glaciers
millions of years ago the hike to this
spot is a very easy hike
and round trip is supposed to take one
to two hours and it's gorgeous there was
hardly anyone else on the trail
i feel like this is the perfect time to
uh to venture here
so that's pretty much what we're doing
today is exploring the northern part of
grossmoor national park
the part that's closer to rocky harbor
versus bond bay which
is where we are staying and it's where
we were yesterday and where we're going
to explore more tomorrow

so

today we are exploring the southern part
of grossmore national park
it is close to uh bombay and woody point
the town that we're staying in it's a
short eight minute drive from us so it's
super convenient
here in southern grossmoor there's the
tablelands which is where you can walk
on the earth's mantel
which is super cool right now we are on
the green gardens trail this trail is a
nine kilometer
out and back rated moderate difficulty
and
it leads to the coast with stunning
cliffs
there's sea stacks there's coves there's
waterfalls there's even some caves
and wild sheep it reminds me of
something you'd see in ireland or even
parts of iceland it's just dramatic
cliffs
greenery and the ocean and we have it
all to ourselves right now
[Music]
so we made it to eastern newfoundland
here we are we're
so far east that we're actually at the
most eastern point of all of north
america
here at cape spear cape spirit is the
canadian national historic site
as you can see there's the lighthouse
cape spear is a short very short like 15
minute drive from st
john's where we will be staying for the
next two nights
on cape spear not only is there the
lighthouse there's also multiple hiking
trails that follow along the coastline
one of them is called blackhead path and
it's a short
about one to two hour hike and it's
beautiful it follows right along the
coast
let's go check it out
right now we are at the small fishing
village of quiddy fitty
it's a quaint little town right outside
of st john's it's a short eight minute
drive
and it is so charming there are colorful
buildings that line the cliffside
in the inlet and they're on stilts out
of the water and the only way to get to
a few of them
is buy a boat there's also the quidifidi
brewing company that's right along the
water and there's a bunch of trails that
you can hike on up on the cliffs with
stunning views

consumers of this stuff on the planet

ways every day of the week guys you can
fry it you can boil it you can blow dry

little story now where it came from
so it might taste a little bit better by
the time you get to drink it
whatever i say guys us
landers we used to have a lot of cod
fish years ago
jamaica jamaica used to have a shitload
of ramen
so we used to trade ourselves for it but
back then we used to get the sludge
in the bottom of the barrels us we
scraped our razor blades and we boiled
it
up and that's what we ended up with a
lot of it
[Music]
so guys now that i know you can also
watch drink like us i want to know if
you can talk like us

word of four letters okay i'm only gonna
say it once
