so we made it to the Galapagos Islands
first things we got to do jump out of
Shadow now we gotta jump on a ferry
and now back on another bus we made it
to Puerto ayora now we gotta find our
Airbnb all right so we made it to our
Airbnb it ended up only being like a
four minute walk from where we got
dropped off so that was really nice but
it was a lot to get here and that's just
because when you fly into the Belcher
airport here in the Galapagos it's
actually on a separate Island than
Puerto ayora Puerto ayora is on a Santa
Cruz Island and like I said the airport
is on baltra island so the two islands
are separated by a canal and that's why
you have to jump on a bus at Baltimore
Airport to get to the ferry and you
cross the canal on the ferry and then
from the ferry you get on another bus
and the bus takes you to the other side
of the island about 40 minutes to get
you to Puerto ayora which is where we
are now and that whole process took us
about an hour and a half to two hours to
get here but this morning there was
actually a little bit of a process
before we got here and we didn't really
get much of it on film because we were a
little bit cranky after we head down to
the airport this morning and the reason
for that is is because when we went to
check into her flight we were told that
we booked the wrong ticket and when we
booked our flight apparently we booked a
ticket that's only for Ecuadorian
residents so we got a much cheaper price
than what you would pay if you are
booking a ticket as somebody that's not
from Ecuador apparently the reason for
this is because the Galapagos charges an
extra fee for international travelers to
come here on top of the other fees that
they already charge but I'll get to that
in a second so when we got there we got
told that we had to pay an extra hundred
and fifty dollars a person for our
tickets that we had already spent 150 a
person on so that doubled the price of
our tickets so we were a little bit
crabby about that because it was an
expense that we weren't expecting to pay
so we ended up just having to pay it
because otherwise we would have missed
this whole trip and that's not something
that we wanted to do in total they
charged us two hundred and forty dollars
extra and I think if that's just because
when we originally booked our ticket we
had booked 4 for a carry-on bag which
was 30 bucks so I think if you had
booked like the very lowest ticket it
would be the full 150 extra per person I
definitely do not make this mistake when
you're coming to the Galapagos
apparently when you book The Ticket
there's a little Banner at the top of
the screen that says this is only for
Ecuadorian residents when we booked we
don't remember seeing that you know we
could have missed it and when we booked
our tickets we had put in our
nationality and it still didn't give us
like a big error code it allowed us to
buy the ticket so if you're expecting
some sort of error to come up and reject
you to not buy the tickets that's not
going to happen so after we took care of
that there's two more steps that you
need to do before you can check in like
normal so when you're coming to the
Galapagos they require a Transit card
which is twenty dollars a person at the
Guayaquil airport there's a special
section in between the international and
National sections and there's yellow
signage above it and you just go there
you give them your passport and your
ticket and you give them 20 bucks and
then they give you a Transit card so
that was super easy and then after that
you have to go through special security
because it's very strict here in the
Galapagos on what you can bring in you
go through a little bit of extra
security measure just putting your bags
through an extra machine they put a
little blue tag on your bags so that
everybody knows that you have gone
through the security measure and then
after that you just go to check into
your flight like normal and you go
through security like normal you just
have to show them that Transit card that
I was talking about before and then when
you land in the Galapagos you go through
kind of a little bit of a customs check
even though you are still in Ecuador
then you also have to pay a hundred
dollar fee to come to the Galapagos per
person and that has to be in cash so
make sure you have cash on you for that
and then after that is when you start
the process of getting on the bus the
ferry and then the bus again to get to
the city of Puerto ayoro that is the
whole process it's a lot I will say but
we're so happy to be here despite you
know having to pay an extra 240 dollars
at the airport this morning we are
absolutely starving so we are gonna head
out and go grab a bite to eat

just had a really good meal after
checking in at our Airbnb decided to go
check out the shore we were here not not
even a minute and we saw four different
types of wildlife we saw iguanas crabs
birds and we got to see a giant tortoise

like he's literally chilling on a city
street

so I got a smoothie on our walk and
we're actually heading to a beach and
we're really excited to get there so
we'll see you when we get there

the water is just insane
so blue and this beach is really pretty
it's not very big though I wish we had
brought our swimsuits so we could go
swimming but we're still enjoying our
time here

down to the sand look where it leads to
it's his tail
it's so peaceful here we kept walking a
little bit further down the path and
we're at a place called La ratanera I
think is how it's pronounced
taste is so much more peaceful than the
beach that we were just at there's only
one other couple here and it's like
nobody else around it's so beautiful and
the Sun is starting to set and I just
feel so thankful that we're able to be
here because wow this place is so
gorgeous and we cannot wait for what
else it has in store for us over these
next couple of days but this is where
we're going to leave you tonight we'll
see you guys for some more adventures in

good morning everyone so it is day two
here on the Galapagos Islands today we
are gonna go explore Tortuga Bay which
is about a 40 minute walk from where
we're staying in Puerto ayora this is
one of the hot spots of the Galapagos
it's usually one of the busier spots
because you can access it pretty easily
there's a hiking trail to get there so
we are gonna go explore and hopefully
see some animals
40 minute walk we we have made it to
Tortuga Bay there's a whole bunch of
beaches up along the coastline over here
so our first stop here is at Playa Brava

wow this beach is so beautiful the waves
are insane here they are so big we
brought our snorkel because we thought
maybe we'd go swimming go snorkeling a
little bit I don't think that's gonna
happen it looks very dangerous out there
these only Surfers out there right now
besides people just dipping their feet
in I hope that the clouds clear up a
little bit because I feel like the water
would just look even more blue without
the clouds out but it's still beautiful
regardless and we're really just
enjoying a relaxing day out here

we made it to the other side and it's a
lot calmer over here because it's
surrounded by land over there so I think
now we're going to do some swimming
the water was freezing at first now it
feels amazing oh my gosh it feels so
good we're so happy that we kept walking
and we found this like other Beach I'm
not sure exactly what it's called but
we'll put the name of it on the screen
but it's so beautiful and the water
feels so nice and super calm is so salty
we tried snorkeling but it's really
murky underwater it's just so nice out
here it's very peaceful like the other
side was so windy and the waves are
crazy but being over here it's it's calm
it's a lot warmer because there's no
Breeze and it's sunnier now over here as
you can tell I can't even open my eyes
maybe from the salt water but yeah it's
it's very nice over here we're enjoying
it so we just left the beach and we
walked a little bit further up and we
came to the spot that we kind of skipped
on the way to the beach and there are so
many sea turtles here it's crazy I don't
know if it's because the waves are so
strong they kind of got pushed into this
little Bay here and they're trying to
fight their way out but they keep poking
their heads up and it's so cool we're
the only ones standing over here right
now there's probably like honestly 30
plus turtles in this little Bay Area and
oh it's so cool I can stand here and
watch them all day they just keep
thinking their little heads up to say
hello
oh they're getting out there now
look at them go there they go
so after an awesome day at Tortuga Bay
we decided to come back to the little
beach we found yesterday and just kind
of hang out we actually have the beach
all to ourselves right now so it's super
peaceful yeah it's kind of crazy
compared to yesterday because it was
really busy here I think it's because
it's a little bit more overcast a little
bit chillier today so not as many people
out enjoying the beach but it's still
absolutely beautiful to come and just
sit here and just look out at the water
yeah we had like I said we had a blast
at Tortuga Bay seeing the sea turtles
was amazing seeing them poke their heads
up over the water was super funny seeing
all the birds all the iguanas just
everything it was just a beautiful day
yeah I think it was just a little taste
of what's to come but we could not be
more excited to start our cruise
throughout the Galapagos
tomorrow is the day that we're jumping
