How to pack for overnight summer camp

i am so fortunate to go to sleep away
summer camp for two weeks with two of
her best friends she's going again this
year but let me tell you i was a little
confused about the
it took us so long
um so we thought it'd be fun to give you
guys a rundown of what you really need
some things that aren't on the list and
our general questions answered my first
being press did you miss us
no maybe like a little bit but i guess
that's a good thing all right guys here
we go
first up the gear
oh my god it's heavy i i have to carry
this on the bus
this is
like a trunk okay let's open it up and
look it pops up you have your own
special mirror yeah and cute zip baggies
and i i sell them oh hey what that's my
good necklace i let you borrow oh
it's like stuck in there okay we'll get
it later we'll get it later so i had
never seen one of these before is it
much better than just a big suitcase
yeah because you don't really have to
unpack and usually in camps you don't
even have drawers so what
all right let's get let's get this it's
heavy
okay next what we put inside there we
have your packing list and it says seven
t-shirts and five shorts yep okay let's
be honest we definitely packed a little
more than that as you can see but there
is laundry right yes there was laundry
but literally all my clothes got stained
what are we doing i don't know so that's
a great tip do not bring good stuff yes
and there's a lot of messy and dirty
stuff sounds like fun i thought it was
interesting they put long jeans um yes
just horseback riding or you can just
wear leggings okay two to three
swimsuits i think you brought four yes
definitely bring a lot of swimsuits and
also i would recommend a rash guard so
my shoulders don't get burned yes three
to four pajamas was enough i just rewore
a lot of pajamas okay re-wear love it
did you need like workout clothes um if
you're doing like gymnastics at my camp
in terms of clothing was it helpful to
have labels yes because their items got
confused they would bring the laundry
back it would be all mixed up in piles
and they called your name oh
that's good but wait are we gonna do
laundry this year
no no
no i'm even more confused and then we
put all of your outfits into baggies was
that helpful yes that was key okay next
up beddings and linens they gave you the
option between a sleeping bag or a twin
sheet and a blanket which we went with
okay definitely no sleeping bag because
like nobody even had sleeping bags in my
door it's too hot right yeah um speaking
of this is something we didn't bring
last year okay definitely bring a fan at
night because if you sleep on the top
bunk it gets really hot up there and in
this pick i see you also used your
clip-on light yes that was key oh towels
um yes i did not bring it up we just
packed like one for you right yeah and
like every day i'd have to reuse it and
wasn't it we're gonna need two trunks
this year okay moving on to toiletries
i would recommend more shampoo because
somebody
um knocked all my shampoos on the floor
no
oh no is there anything we forgot bug
bite cream you got a lot of bug bites
there oh
okay a big one sunscreen never leave it
outside literally so many of these tiny
bugs get on it oh my gosh okay good tip
moving on to miscellaneous
um a journal and stationery to write
home
i would definitely recommend that guys
can you believe you cannot call us for
two
weeks yes she could only write us
letters and i still remember the first
one i got it was so exciting
camera
okay so we forgot to bring the ac
adapter i forgot so
i took like two pictures and then it
died but would you recommend bringing a
camera with the appropriate accessories
yes and then guys a few things that are
not on this list
okay so i would bring a portable water
fan okay because it's really hot right
and some some girls had them yeah and
what else i would bring like you know
that wristband you don't feel like
carsick because like somebody threw up
on the bus
and then drum roll please can i go get
it
you guys this was an impulsive amazon
purchase i loved it
okay i was like do we have room for it
yes we did how does this work okay so
basically this is the table and i use
this every night to play card games with
my friends
oh and that's actually one more thing is
like uno a little travel game yes better
than an ipad all right guys well we hope
