what's up guys ben wilson with beard
brand alliance in today's video i'm
going to give you my tips for preventing
ingrown hairs
so if you had ingrown hairs before you
know how much of a pain
they can be there are two ways that you
can get ingrown hairs
one is your hair grows and
grows back into your skin
causing it to get infected and then
getting an ingrown hair the other way
is um you have this dead skin cells and
and oils that build up over time they'll
prevent
your hair from coming out of your pores
so then your hair will be forced to grow
back in your skin so those are the two
ways that you can
get ingrown hairs there are
definitely preventable there's some
things that you can do to prevent them
from happening
tips that i'm going to share with you
are things that have worked for me
if you go online and research ingrown
hair preventions you're going to find
a ton of things i just wanted to share
with you guys the things that have
worked
for me so here's the list number one
exfoliate your face for me i used a face
scrub
you can find them everywhere i would use
that on my face before
i would shave and what that does is it
cleans
out the oil excess oil you have on your
skin along with the dead
cells cleans that out of your pores to
allow your hair to grow
out of them the other thing it does too
is
it helps to gently pull
on some hairs that have just started the
ingrown process
it helps to pull them out so they're on
the surface so you can shave them
number two use a safety razor now if you
tuned into some of my videos in the past
you've seen me
say nothing but great things about
safety razors
ever since i started using the safety
razor i noticed that my
instances of having ingrown hairs were
cut
dramatically another big thing is when
you're using a safety razor make sure
that you're
changing the blade often i do this
every two to three uses and
um the reason behind that is the longer
you use your razor blade it's not going
to be as sharp
obviously and it's not going to give
your
it's not going to cut your hair clean so
by not changing the blade you're also
going to increase
the chances of your hair growing back
into your skin number three shave with
the grain
don't suggest going against the grain
when you go against the grain
you can cause some irritation to your
face
also you'll cut your hair a little bit
closer
and when you're cutting your hair closer
there's more of a chance of it
going back into your skin so
if you don't need to don't do it shave
with the grain
okay save the best for last last tip is
use an illume block this one
is a game changer loom box are awesome
number one they're great for preventing
ingrown hairs because
they are anti-bacterial and antiseptic
you after you're done shaving you rub it
on your face
and it's going to number one is gonna
clean your face
and number two it is going to
stop any bleeding that you have it's a
hemostatic so it's antibacterial it's
antiseptic and it's a hemostatic
so it is awesome tool to use in your
face
after shaving it's gonna sting it's
gonna hurt
but uh it's a lot better than running
around
with ingrown hairs or little bits of
tissue paper all over your face well
guys that's all i got hope you enjoyed
