ok today we're going to shoot a quick
video on how we gobo we levelling a mole
at home if you look at this bubble it
shows that we're low to the front here
because here's a good quarter inch gap
so either we'd have to raise this end
here or we can lower it down there at
the other pier and we measured the rest
of the house already arrested it looks
good except for down that way
it's a little bit higher to the back
it's a little bit high rate at the end
of the level we want to measure the rest
of the room
levels just bang on it's just just
perfect in between the lines so what
we're going to do is we're going to
level the lower back of the house down a
bit with jacks to meet up with the rest
then we'll shoot up with the shoot laser
down the hall and make sure that it's
straight and level the whole distance
and it it'll look pretty good so we're
going to go under the house and do that
next ok this is another one of the tools
and use in every level move out homes
got ourselves a laser level so we've
made up a card do a line that where it
shoots on the level so we know where
it's good we go down every 6 feet or so
so it shows up are a little low here it
would actually be all right if we lifted
it up a bit go another 6 feet and we're
getting closer it just needs to come up
a little bit just one little shim like
1/8 inch gym piece of door skin cut a
strip work excellent for that's what you
measure it here it's bang on it's good
and then this is the area that we're
going to lower and it's showing its high
it's hard to see with a laser but we're
a good quarter inch high here so we're
going to lower this and lower the back
of the house and then they'll come in
level and maybe raise that other spot up
a bit to bring it in line so we're right
where we had the level in in the first
video the rest of the room it's got a
different level of flooring so when you
measure the rest you need to take
account of the thickness of your
flooring on your card and you can just
you can eyeball it pretty well so now
we'll go pop on guys so here we got set
up with the jack we're going to left the
frameless mobile-home at 20:10 jack put
a piece of steel between the jack and
the frame so they don't distort the
frame and we're going to lift it up just
enough so that we can take a little bit
of material out of this pier here and
that will take down the high spot the
back the house is actually off of its
pier a little bit it's and we knew it
was going to be high so that'll bring
that down as well and that'll make it
work out pretty good so we're going to
do that now Jack it up and we've got it
from it - it's just wedges in there you
just back those wedges out halfway to
their tip and it should be about the
right amount not all right
[Music]
you see the house of lifting should be
pretty close since we're not moving at a
long ways we're just going to do one
side at a time if we had to go multiple
inches we would be lifting both sides
evenly together but since it is just an
adjustment you're not a major we level
we will be able to do just fine with
what we have so we've just to the wedges
so they let allow the house to settle
down a little lower and then when you
feels ready turn the jack and it'll come
down and we'll go to the other side do
it again okay well this I didn't come
down very much so we're going to leave
it as it is do the other side and then
if we get that one nice we'll just tap
the wedges in tight so that everything's
held getting after you measure the floor
on the inside here now on the other side
and we're trying to get the lift up with
a different jack here so you'll you'll
watch your cribbing underneath the jack
pushing to the ground for a little bit
once it finds its spot packs the ground
down a bit we don't have the using this
ground to work with so we're just going
to focus on the jet the house is lifting
lose it all
[Music]
when you're lifting mobile homes always
want to have lots of safeties around we
got up here every 7 feet on this house
so you got lots of see if he's but if
you didn't have that peers so you're
just setting up for the first time you
want to get some good crates of wooden
big wooden blocks or two by fours nailed
together stacked criss cross so that you
have safeties all around you so food for
some reason something jigs fail Jack
fails or it's something drops you got
something they're real close you know
not inches away but you know within an
inch so I can drop down it'll be safe
I'm going to do the same thing here a
little bit yeah there's a sudden both of
them needs to be adjusted we're going to
back this one off a little bit too well
there's still weight on the back ones
this I'd have to come down this the
other side it was up
[Music]
you never put your fingers under you
always grab from the end of the board so
you never put in your hands underneath
the info we call it the bite pinch point
okay we're going to lower down so that
much sir okay we'll try it and we'll
measure it and see how it goes let's
touch down on the back here you can
measure the floor and see what it looks
like might just have to tap those tight
yeah since we're using wedges on this
house we can tap them up tight just get
a hammer and you can actually lift the
house with a hammer by tapping on a
wedge like that and you lift it up
quarter-inch something too much trouble
so we'll go back inside and measure and
see what it looks like our we just
bumped over to the other side of house
we're working initially and by letting
the other side of the house that was a
little higher than this side down it
brought this side right down onto its
Pierce all the woods tight it might not
be incredibly tight oh I dropped my
drink yeah so we probably have to
tighten him up with a hammer but it
brought it a lot closer so we're going
the house see we're at with the levels
and okay we've come into the house and
the rear bedroom that was the one that
we're needing to level in question we
come back in and the floor is just
spot-on but level the bubble is rated
between the lines good we measure the
side-to-side you could see them a camera
there and it's good to it's written
lines so you've gotten good so far there
we'll just check the rest of the house
to make sure it's good and then go
button everything up and call it a day
tap in those those wedges and she should
be done
back in the first room that we're in
beginning the video you look at the
bubble it's between the lines it's
almost perfectly centered but it is very
very close and that's usually as about
as good as you can get if you can't get
perfect really really close as good a
time about home because you're not
really the straightest buildings in the
world but ya know where we're happy with
this it's going to be good we'll shoot a
laser down the floor tapping the legends
and she will to button it up in there
are tools way oK we've come back into
the house to measure the laser along the
length of the building and coming here
with a card you get our line that lines
up with the center on our laser now I
would go ahead and it to word it's just
about perfect and that's where we're
going to be happy with and now we'll
just go underneath and tighten up the
shims and put this skirting back on
we're done vulva did go okay now he's
come under here tap you give it a good
tap there make sure it's tight yeah
we're getting tight here we were happy
with the level check the other side get
any harder than that and probably start
lifting the building so we'll let this
down check the other side we move all
our gear and you can you from there all
right we're on the other side no crawl
on your hair like a worm helps to be
skinny when you're doing mobile home
work so homeowners getting is a letter
set up we actually used to do this is uh
employment together half a dozen years
ago so
you're not just pretending we know what
we're doing here this is actually how
things would normally be done wedges
aren't the typical way to do it you can
use shims but which is wedges worked
good too
so we need to check this cylinder and we
need just one to be just a touch loose
looks good up or down and came down the
last little bit I'll just tap these ones
tight you only sell a little bit but all
we needed was a little bit on this side
so now we'll pull coming out like
routing back on and that'd be all she
wrote
all right last thing the project here is
to let's bless be screwed just hurting
his little groove flops into itself
[Music]
[Music]
nice and straight like we weren't even
there and now we're done
hope you enjoyed the show we'll find
something else to do
