we work with children up to the age of
four
so this isn't really our role of
expertise but we do get asked that by
mums that come into our services and we
encourage them to go to their kinder
teacher or a teacher that is preparing
the child for school but we also tell
mum to have a look at how their child is
around other families other children
their age
how they're going with
looking at books at drawing those sorts
of activities but we make sure that we
encourage children to attend kinder and
to use that expertise the other thing we
encourage parents to do is to take their
child for the three and a half year old
developmental check that happens at the
maternal and child health centers
because this is a full screening which
is meant to be um in preparation for
school and picking up any thing that
might help to get them ready for school
