many freezer repairs will require some
disassembly of the appliance before you
attempt this you should unplug the power
cord to gain access to components like
the evaporator fan motor or defrost
heater first remove the lower basket
now remove the bumpers on both the
middle and lower racks and pull out the
two racks next remove the screws
securing the evaporator cover with the
screws removed pull the cover off
when the repair is complete replace the
cover and secure it loosely with the
screws align the side gaskets and push
them into place with the gaskets fully
positioned tighten the screws replace
the racks snap on the bumpers and
replace the lower basket if you need to
uninstall the freezer door first remove
the screws to release the kick plate
next use pliers to detach the door wire
harness retainer from the frame uh the
second retainer to release the wire
harness
connect the harness connector remove the
upper hinge cover use a tamper-proof bit
to remove the two hinge screws support
the door as you pull off the upper hinge
then carefully lift the door off of the
lower hinge and set it down on a blanket
or towel when the repair is complete
make sure the cam is in place on the
lower hinge then apply some lubricant to
the cam reinstall the door by
positioning it on the can support the
door as you replace the upper hinge
secure it loosely with the screws
confirm that the door is level then
tighten the screws replace the hinge
cover reconnect the door wire harness
then secure the harness in the twist
retainer snap the second retainer into
the hole in the frame reposition the
kick plate and replace the screws to
secure with the freezer fully
reassembled plug the power cord back in
and confirm that the appliance is
functioning properly
