with the dryer and free of any tangles
or mats very important to get that coat
in great condition before you actually
start clipping it's going to take my
comb go over make sure that I don't have
any mats or tangles he's feeling really
good okay it was a nice conditioner
we're ready to begin first thing we're
gonna do is may also already been
shrimps the first thing we're gonna do
is shave about this hair on the path of
his feet you can see he gets go very
good so you can see there's not a whole
lot of growth there I'm gonna use a
forty blade for shaving off the pads of
the feet I recommend a forty blade or a
thirty blade forty blades are a little
bit finer they do cut shorter than a
thirty blade but for the pads of the
feet or under a comb guard either one is
fine
you've got that hairnet
getting rid of that hair will help give
that
protraction and are trying to
not up in there and cause infection
attack
that nice and clear out
the next thing we're gonna do in our
process is we're going to switch our 40
blade to a number ten blade
again you're gonna use a 30 or a 40 on
bare skin so we're going to switch to a
10 blade and we're gonna shave around
his private area just keep everything
clean and neat or strap off we're going
to hold his leg up as you can see it's
kind of fuzzy under here we're just
gonna very carefully shave some of that
slow down just make sure that we know
where the skin is at all times
hold on to it about my time sometimes
you can also lift them up this way I
kind of get skin in there in
so we're gonna switch back to our 40
blade we're going to a puppy pound puppy
cut can be pretty much any length it's
just just means that we're giving him an
all-over haircut the same length so
right now he's probably a couple inches
they're gonna take off about half of
this and we're going to make them about
an inch all over and a puppy package and
the comb gar that we're going to use
today is the half comb you can look on
the website and it'll give you more
information about the different combs
and what length they actually leave on
the dog we're going to start at the
bases next just strap back on so he
doesn't walk off the table

we've got Samians but pretty decent
shape here and we're gonna start using
our scissors now our metal comb to trim
around this feet and kind of find toom
everything and then when we're done with
that we'll go back and we'll do his head
so we're gonna take the foot we've
already shaved off the pads we're gonna
brush it down there comb we're gonna
take our perch scissors follow the shape
of the foot on the bottom and this takes
a little bit of getting used to you can
actually practice on some stuffed
animals anything rounding fluffy and
practice your scissoring just want to
use your comb brush the hair make sure
you're going in a comfortable position
scissor it up so it's clear of any hair
so they're going to take its foot we're
gonna put it like it he would how it
would be if you were just standing and
brush down this is extra can we take our
curve scissors you invest in just one
pair of scissors I always recommend
curves as most of the dog is curved oh I
really don't even use the straight
shears anymore
well everything up straight turn around
I think brown brown brown up take our
scissors we're going to go I like to
flip my scissors around a little bit
we're gonna go all the way across in a
sweeping motion just really lightly and
just think round round around just go
over and pick up anything let's have a
lace work on the back of the leg here
and use your comb brush it all out
scissors and this is really might want
to use some straight scissors again I
think the curves sometimes I use them
this way

where the skin is before you start
trimming lean it away from the skin I'm
just going to trim a little bit off you

just cut some rumors like just shave it
back there I don't really like that but

just scissor away enough to make it neat

want the tails to make sure you feel
where the actual tail is put your
fingers on the edge of that so you're
not going to cut his skin but you can
take off as much as you want
some people like long tails like short
tails just personal preference
then you're gonna brush the hair part it
down the center of the tail as much as
you can use your fingers and just like
their parting your hair down the middle

scissors we like his tail fairly short
just go over it so it's meat you want to
be
sticking up just follow the curve let's
deal with your curved scissors see how
it's gonna look
sure everything's trimmed
pretty good their ceilings I think we're
gonna do is head and ears now that we've
got some money no you do two things with
the eyes you can thinning shear all of
this out as much as you want or you can
shave it again it's personal preference
some people actually like it shaped all
the way down the nose Sammis and iron
actually likes a little bit of this some
people prefer to grow this out so it
lays flat it really truly is just what
you want your dog to look like so first
of all things share a little bit and
I'll show you how to do it that way and
then we'll shave out his eyes because
for CNN ABC she got a nice super just

very careful not to get a gray actually

lift up this ear and see all this extra
hair sticking up behind the ear scissor
it seems sweeping around the motion like
we did with the feet round around around
if you flip that you're over kind of
fresh it I got a feel for what it's
going to look like go over it a little
bit more if you want really starting to
get a nice neat sheet of course I should
get your shape in want use your thinning
shears it's kind of do a more natural
edge line some people like this along
right here trim it a little natural
there's many cheers and cheers are vital
to big routine
even kind of fix whatever doesn't look
quite right
