hi once again this is Robert with clean
pool and spa and this video I am going
to be talking about this mysterious
white sediment on the bottom of your
pool now this is for pool owners that
their readings are correct
their chlorine combined flooring pH
alkalinity calcium harness and cyanuric
acid are all in line but they have this
mysterious white sediment this white
film on the bottom of their pool and
they don't know where it's coming from
you know they vacuum it up and then a
week later it's there and they have no
idea what's going on well this could be
your problem
are you using calcium hypochlorite and
are you shocking your pool on a weekly
or bi-weekly basis if you are that could
be the problem calcium hypochloride
juses name implies has calcium in it so
when you chlorinate your pool with
granular chlorine that calcium is going
to sink to the bottom and you're gonna
have to vacuum it up so that could be
the problem and I know this firsthand
and I know how frustrating it can be
because when I had to shock the pool at
the YMCA that was a eighty thousand
gallon salt pool I would use around I
believe about fifteen to seventeen
pounds get that chlorine up around 12 to
15 parts per million and I would do that
on Saturday night and Sunday morning I
would show up and I knew that I was in
for about three three and a half hours
of fun and excitement sweeping and
vacuuming the pool because I knew that
that all that calcium would settle to
the bottom and you know people don't
want to walk through that and it clouds
the pool there very quickly so if you're
having that problem with that film with
that sediment that the mysterious white
stuff
bottom of your pool the problem could be
calcium hypochloride go ahead and switch
to liquid chlorine sodium hypochloride
or you can chlorinate your pool with
bleach as well there's the same
chlorinating properties sodium
hypochlorite pool chlorine is around
twelve to sixteen percent and bleach is
around six percent many people have
coordinated chlorine into their pools
for years very successfully using bleach
so that's it go ahead and check the
