hello I'm Brad the bug man
the gardens doing pretty good when I
came out this evening
I noticed slime trails that's a telltale
sign of slugs slugs do a lot of damage
in a short period of time I've put too
much effort into this vegetable garden
to let the slugs eat at all now there
isn't a beneficial insect that will
control slugs
there are baits powders that you can put
out birds like guinea hens chickens
ducks will eat slugs but I'm on a small
city lot that's not an option what I use
our beer traps they're very effective
they're very inexpensive I can't sell
you any but I'll show you how to make
one take a sour cream tab rinse it out
and then about a half inch down from the
top cut three holes about half an inch
tall inch and a half wide big enough for
a slug to crawl through it now in the
area where you had your infestation bury
the sour cream tub so that those holes
are level with the surface of the soil
pour in a little bit of cheap beer and
put the lid on that'll keep the dog
sober keep the water out the slugs are
attracted to the yeast they crawl in
they drowned take this toss it away next
time you get a sour cream tub do the
thing over again very effective very
inexpensive this is a great way to
control slugs naturally okay twelve
hours later
back in the garden going to check my
trap oh look at that got to be a dozen
dead slugs in there these work very well
hopefully it'll protect my beats in my
kale
ah thank you for watching I hope this
has been helpful
