videos every single week I'm gonna share
my tips and tricks to help you get rid
of your sunburn fast while keeping the
tan and keeping your skin as healthy as
possible so you don't have to deal with
a lot of peeling although the nasty
stuff that comes along with damaged skin
so it has come to my attention that I am
a dumbass
you're thinking no [ __ ] Hiram we then
knew I am very very thong so backstory
story time about a week ago about a week
ago I went diving to see this really
cool underwater Buddha if I have the
footage I will insert it here otherwise
just look at this beautiful face there's
this really cool place to base a lot of
coral and fish and then there's this
underwater Buddha that you can swim up
right next to and before that I was like
okay Hyrum you haven't seen sunlight in
like three years so be careful load up
on the sunscreen but I also thought to
myself you know Hyrum you don't have to
go crazy with the sunscreen your ass is
pale as [ __ ] it's okay if you get a
little bit of sunlight like live a
little
enjoy life instead of constantly
stressing about sun damage so I applied
sunscreen and I was outside in total for
about four hours and I reapplied my
sunscreen five times to my face you hear
that before you come for me five times I
applied sunscreen yes and I applied it
to my body as well and here's the thing
I'm Mexican I when I was little could
tan like crazy I would get so so so dark
so I was like if I get a little bit Sun
it's not a big deal
fast-forward to that evening I was
roasted alive
abso-fuckin'-lutely roasted I'm talking
I look like I was a lobster cooked and
ready for dinner
you know Bob the Tomato from VeggieTales
I made him look pink yeah [ __ ] it was a
bad and honestly I would have taken
pictures but I was too ashamed to show
all of you I don't know if you can see
oh my god it looks like I'm flexing do
you see that do you see that [ __ ] the
[ __ ] is Moses doing parting the Red Sea
on my arm I mean this is ten times
better than what it was if I have a
picture I'll insert it here about who
boy it was bad and I was like okay Hyrum
you dumb [ __ ] this is the time to start
repairing your skin and I immediately
started prepping for this video so
consider a market research for this
video yes purely purely objective market
research so if that long story out of
the way I want to tell you guys how you
can get rid of your sunburn fast and how
I
when this all went down and what I've
done many many many times before when
I've gotten sunburned because here's the
thing at summer time we still can't
socialize some of you hoes are gonna be
tanning outside too long I know what's
gonna happen and I never really some of
you are going to get sunburned and I
would much rather you watch this video
then listen to some tips and advice that
I've heard circulating out there so
let's get into it first when you get
home you want to take off your clothes
no seriously you want to remove your
clothes because your clothes rubbing
against your skin is only going to
increase inflammation and that
sensitivity and that burning sensation
it's gonna trap in the heat to make you
feel even hotter and overall the rubbing
of the material on your sunburn is just
gonna make it more painful and make it
worse in the end I specifically like to
do this anyway because honestly if you
keep on your clothes it gets so freakin
hot you sweat more it just feels
miserable when I first moved to Y I used
to get sunburn all the freaking time and
the worst thing was that I worked as a
line cook for a little bit and we would
have to wear a heavy heavy cotton with
steam from the food constantly in our
faces in hot humid Hawaii and with a
sunburn oh that was miserable I do not
miss that this may seem kind of dumb but
coming as a person who used to be a
sunburn Pro rest in peace my skin trust
this feels so much better step number
two go in with aloe vera yes aloe vera
the ingredient that you've always heard
about is an incredible ingredient for
the skin and if you've ever gotten
sunburned you know this aloe vera is
great for just cooling the skin down it
feels soothing to the burning sensation
that's all over your body and it's
obviously a hero ingredient I mean it's
the reason why it's almost in every
single skin care product out there no
harm do you mean the actual plant or an
aloe vera gel honestly I personally
recommend an aloe vera gel as opposed to
an actual plant but either one work the
reason why I don't recommend a plant is
because sometimes they can be bacterial
bugs dirt and the aloe vera plant does
have certain components that can be
sensitizing to the skin which is why I
prefer aloe vera extract in a product
where all those irritating components
are removed but in reality pure aloe
vera gel from a plant can be really
effective as well so whenever you notice
your skin is drying down you want to
smother that [ __ ] on as much as you
possibly can hydrate her now you want to
smother aloe vera gel all over multiple
times
well not multiple times as many times as
you can to be completely honest now as I
say this do not choose just any aloe
vera gel out there
not every aloe vera gel is created
equally and while a lot of them are good
I have to say do not hit my elbow
purchase the banana boat
aloe vera gel please please please don't
be angry
our trash first of all the second
ingredient is Dmytro alcohol which I'm
like why would you put danijon alcohol
in alberto gel when your skin is damaged
by the Sun it's extremely dehydrated the
last ingredient that you want to
introduce to your skin at that state is
to nature alcohol which first he's gonna
overly strip your skin but also secondly
cause sensitivity and irritation which
is only gonna make your sunburn worse
and then second of all this product has
an extremely low concentration of aloe
vera extract and it has a high
concentration of fragrance
honestly preparing for this video I
wasn't necessarily keen on Banana Boat
but as soon as I saw the ingredient list
I was like oh my god throw that [ __ ] out
what I recommend instead and this one's
my personal favorite because it's really
easy to find it's super cheap and
high-quality ingredients it's the target
banned aloe vera gel that's fragrance
and dye free this one's awesome aloe is
the first ingredient and it's a very
simple ingredient list that's irritant
free and fragrance free as well which
honestly if you have the option I
recommend going fragrance and dye free
when it comes to aloe vera gel because
you're introducing it to your skin at a
very very very sensitized state so you
don't want to risk any additional
irritation this one's super cheap and
honestly after looking at all the other
drugstore aloe vera gel formulas this
one's pretty much the best so I
recommend going with this one this is
the baby I use also you may notice that
this is a little opaque it's because I
keep mine in the fridge keeping your
aloe vera gel in the fridge is an
amazing way of cooling down that burning
sensation if you have a sunburn and
haven't tried that before you're about
to resurrect back to life [ __ ] it's
amazeballs and makes the experience a
hundred times better the third step is
to moisturize like crazy I know it may
seem like you're already moisturizing by
using an aloe vera gel but in my opinion
aloe vera gels don't contain the
necessary ingredients to provide a nice
seal over the surface of your skin to
prevent that water loss and to make sure
that your skin is deeply hydrated aloe
vera gel will be good but it's not going
to provide the amount of hydration that
your skin really needs to repair itself
and in addition by moisturizing early on
it helps prevent peeling down the road
and peeling your skin is terrible for
your skin I mean if you haven't watched
my tip talk where I reacted to that girl
peeling her sunburn off oh my god
scarring it's just not where you want
your skin to be and a lot of people are
like well peeling is inevitable if you
moisturize and hydrate enough you can
really prevent a lot of peeling on your
skin and actually sustain that tan for
as long as possible now I will say you
want to be careful because you don't
want to use a heavy heavy cream over the
top of a fresh sunburn because that can
actually make it worse it can increase
your body heat and just create a lot of
problems so when you first get sunburn
I recommend just using aloe vera and
then the day after from then on
introducing a moisturizer into your
routine I personally love the Neutrogena
hydro boost Body Gel cream that's
fragrance free this one is awesome
because it's very lightweight and when I
already am using an aloe vera gel on my
body I don't want to use a heavy or
thick cream I want to use something
that's very lightweight and I
particularly like this one because it
does feel very light and it's also
fragrance free which is awesome
again we don't want to irritate the
burnt skin and the ingredients in lists
just ensure to create a good protective
layer over top of your skin to make sure
that your skin's not not going to be
dehydrated but like I said before be
careful about introducing it right away
only start using this when the fresh
sunburn is gone as in when you stop
burning up like a pepper the fourth step
and you guys will be so shocked to hear
this coming out of my mouth but drink a
lot of water I know I know I'm always
talking about how drinking water won't
clear up your skin and that is true but
when your skin is sunburnt your body is
likely very dehydrated first from the
activities that you are doing but also
because prolonged sun exposure really
overly dehydrates the skin and you want
to make sure that you're as hydrated as
possible so drinking water is a good way
of helping this in addition to
moisturizing so just make sure you don't
forget that also you don't want to drink
a lot of water to be able to help assist
the body in repairing itself because I
don't know about you but when I've
gotten bad sunburns in the past like I
will feel nauseous I will have bad
dreams granted I haven't a sunburn like
that in a long time it can be a really
terrible experience and you just want to
make sure that you're hydrated and then
step number five do not do not not not
not not peel your skin please please
please do not do that think of peeling
your skin like breaking a chick's egg
you know how when you have a chick in an
egg and you're not supposed to peel off
the shells because they will naturally
shed the shells when they're ready to
come out your skin is exactly the same
way it'll naturally shed its skin as it
has properly shed itself to make sure
that you're not getting any additional
damage if you are pulling your skin off
that it's pretty much really ripping off
that dead skin and you're actually gonna
be harming the healthy skin underneath
which is gonna make your recovery
process even longer and overall it's not
gonna feel good and I know it's tempting
to peel but honestly if you just
moisturize as much as you can before you
get to that point you're gonna see a lot
less peeling and a lot less temptation
to do so then if you just leave your
skin alone now while I have your
attention don't leave let me tell you
how to prevent getting a sunburn because
obviously you didn't no just kidding
that's the self attacking I just want to
share a few tips and make sure you don't
sunburn in the first place because if
you didn't know and sunburn isn't bad
enough 90% of premature aging is due to
sun exposure alone
90% so if you don't protect yourself
you're gonna be looking like an old
grape by age 35 who wants that not me
first of course sunscreen this is a
given you always want to be using
sunscreen whenever you go outside
whether you whether you're just walking
outside for a few minutes or whether
you're like me being an idiot and being
outside in the ocean for five hours now
I recommend any sunscreen that is SPF 50
because if you're gonna be exposing your
skin to prolonged sun exposure you want
to make sure you're getting the highest
protection possible and if you want to
see some of my face sunscreen
recommendations I'll link the video in
the description box below I go through
all the best ones there depending on
your skin type but if you are someone
who's like I just need a basic sunscreen
for when I'm swimming or going on a run
or biking or whatever it may be what
I've been loving is the hasta vita zinc
SPF 50 they sent this to me they
actually sent me a box of like 15 and I
was like whoa someone got their ordering
wrong it was really nice of them but
honestly looking at the bottle I was
like this looks like it might look like
white paint on my skin but actually it's
totally opposite this one only uses ink
oxide and SPF 50 so you're getting the
highest protection level possible but
the white cast is very minimal and it
actually spreads on the skin quite
nicely and even my friends who have dark
skin tones actually really like using
this one because of how minimal the
white cast was and how easily is spread
this one's super super cheap you can get
on Amazon oh by the way all the products
I'm talking about in today's video are
listed in the description box below if
you do feel like supporting me on my
channel I make a small Commission off of
some of them and I would really
appreciate using those if you do feel
like shopping but no pressure whatsoever
just there for your reference but yeah
it's great I love this stuff number two
you want to reapply your sunscreen every
hour you're in the Sun technically a lot
of the bottles say 90 minutes but
honestly with the different factors
whether it be water or sweat
compromising the protection I recommend
reapplying every hour and this is also
why I recommend mineral sunscreens
like a zinc oxide sunscreen because with
most chemical sunscreens you have to
apply them 30 minutes before sun
exposure in order to get adequate
protection as opposed to Murrell
sunscreens which usually pretty much
start performing immediately and if you
are swimming you want to make sure you
reapply to the dot this is going to
ensure you're getting the best
protection possible because I promise
only applying once isn't gonna do jack
[ __ ] I'm sorry to this man and then the
last tip is that SPF isn't everything
while sunscreen yes is important what is
more important is making sure that
you're removing yourself from the Sun as
much as possible while yes sunscreen is
important it's not going to do
everything and what's more important is
actually physical coverage so obviously
this means being in the shade away from
the Sun but if you are in the Sun using
longer clothes
like long-sleeve shirts wide-brimmed
hats or my personal favorite just using
a towel will help to block some of that
sun damage and honestly that can make
the biggest difference as opposed to
sunscreen which yes will work but if
you're in the Sun for like five hours
you're gonna need some physical coverage
and those are all of my tips and tricks
what do you guys think I hope this
helped you out I know this may seem like
common knowledge to some people but
honestly some people don't know this and
honestly with all the tips tricks hacks
and DIY thingamajigger people are using
to treat sunburns these are much safer
and more reliable ways to make sure that
you're repairing and preventing damage
in your skin I hope in whatever summer
your activities you guys are doing that
you guys will be safe protect yourself
from the Sun as much as possible just
like I did so well last week be safe and
of course have fun and if you have
