the home serve guide to temporarily
removing a radiator for decorating if
you are decorating your home you may
want to remove the radiator to decorate
behind it this is relatively easy to do
and shouldn't take too long but you
might need a friend to help especially
if it's a big radiator let home serve
show you how you're going to need some
old rags a bucket a large bowl a
screwdriver and a spanner step 1
drain water turn off both valves then
unscrew the cabinet that keeps the valve
attached to the adapter in the end of
the radiator hold the bowl under the
joint and open the bleed valve slowly to
let the water drain out transfer the
water from the bowl to the bucket and
continue doing this until no more water
can be drained off step 2 lift radiator
from brackets unscrew the cap nut that
keeps the other valve attached to the
radiator lift the radiator free from its
wall brackets and drain any remaining
water into the bucket top tip if you
have thermostatic radiator valves or T
RVs make sure you cap them off at this
point do this because T RVs open
automatically as the room gets colder
so could cause a leak if the radiators
not in place step 3
replace radiator to replace the radiator
rehang the radiator and tighten the
cabinet's on both valves last of all
bleed the air from the radiator for this
see how to bleed a radiator okay that's
it
but don't forget that if it wasn't all
that easy you can always call home serve
