How to get rid of 403 forbidden

00:50forbidden errors is to simply clear your

00:53browser's caching cookies the website's

00:55link might have been changed and the

00:57real web link is now different from the

00:59cached version so the issue should be

01:01resolved by clearing the browser's cache

01:03and cookies keep in mind that the

01:05leading cache may cause your next visit

01:07to the website to take longer since your

01:09browser will request all of the site's

01:12files again

01:13also clearing the cookies will log off

01:15from your websites where you are signed

01:18in

01:19so here's how to clear caching cookies

01:21on google chrome if you're using another

01:24browser the process is relatively very

01:26similar

01:27click here on three dots and then press

01:30settings

01:31once you have done that locate security

01:34and privacy settings

01:36now press on clear browsing data and

01:38make sure that all of the checkboxes are

01:41checked

01:42select their time range and click clear

01:45data

01:46once you have finished try to revisit

01:48the website to see if that worked

02:02how you can read write and execute them

02:05but before we get into this method i

02:08must mention if you're using hostinger

02:10there's a really great tool that will

02:12take care of all of your permission

02:14problems just in one single click okay

02:17open your hostinger dashboard and scroll

02:20down to the bottom under the other

02:23category choose fix file ownership and

02:26then press execute

02:28this tool will save you loads of time

02:30and will restore all of your files

02:32directory permissions to default values

02:35alright now let's fix this error by

02:38using ftp

02:39first what you have to do is to

02:41configure ftp client and connect it to

02:43your website if you need help with that

02:46here's a link to our video how to use

02:50by step how to do that

02:52once you're connected right click public

02:54html and select file attributes

02:59now enter permission

03:01755 in the numeric value field

03:05select apply to directories only and

03:08press ok

03:09there's the standard practice for file

03:11permission using numeric values so

03:14755 for folders

03:16645 for static content and 700 for

03:20dynamic content

03:22after you are done with that you will

03:24need to repeat the steps we just made

03:26just change the number from

03:29755 to 640

03:32and apply to files only

03:35so right click on public html press on

03:39file attributes enter 644

03:43and select apply to files only and then

03:46press ok

03:48now try accessing the website and if

03:51everything was done successfully the

03:53error should be resolved

03:55okay

03:56now let's try the third method by

03:58checking the hd access file

04:01on your hpanel dashboard locate the file

04:04manager if you're using cpanel the steps

04:07will be the same

04:08then open the public html directory to

04:11find the htaccess file once you locate

04:15the file right click on it and select

04:17download to create a backup

04:19now as you have in backup you need to

04:21delete the hd access file

04:25ok let's check the website if it works

04:28perfectly this means that the hd access

04:31file was corrupted and you need to

04:33generate a new one

04:35to do that

04:36you are going to need to log into the

04:38wordpress dashboard

04:40once you've done that press on settings

04:43and then permalinks

04:46don't make any changes while you are on

04:48the dashboard and then click save

04:50changes button on the bottom of the page

04:53this will generate a fresh hd access

04:56file for your website

04:58now just load the website and the error

05:00should be fixed

05:03alright

05:04if you tried all of the methods i

05:06already mentioned but it didn't help it

05:08could be that incompatible or faulty

05:10plug-in press the error so let's fix it

05:14but to not waste any time don't go by

05:17disabling one plugin after another and

05:19checking if one of them is causing the

05:22issue

05:22i will show you how to disable all of

05:25them at the same time and by following

05:27the next steps you will be able to

05:29detect the issue okay go to your age

05:32panel and locate the file manager

05:35and then go to the public html

05:38then you have to find the vp content

05:41folder and press on it

05:43in vpa folder check for plugins folder

05:46and once you locate it rename that

05:48folder disable plugins to disable all of

05:51the plugins that you have

05:54then try to access the website if the

05:56error is gone that means that the issue

05:58is definitely lice with plugins

06:01what you have to do now is to rename the

06:03folder to plugins and work by disabling

06:06it one by one to detect which one is

06:09faulty

06:10once you find it update the plugin if

06:12necessary or delete it
