hey guys this video is going to get
straight to the point what I'm gonna
show you is how you can download
individual songs and playlists from
Spotify so I love Spotify and one of the
reasons I like it is because you don't
need to you kind of separate you from
carrying around CDs and stuff like that
and you can still discover a lot of me
the music and have great custom
playlists so how do you do this well
let's jump right into it first off you
can search for a song so let's say you
search for a song
let's say The Tragically hit
so I know my wife likes Bob Cajun so
what you can do is there's three dots
there this is just in the Spotify app
this is using the free version of
spotify and you can go where it says
share and copy the song link okay so
once you've done that then you can open
this software here that I use called
alosoft and it will automatically I
didn't even click paste it automatically
sees if there's a Spotify link in the in
the clipboard and you can download now
this works for mac and PC I'm using a
Mac right now but it also works for PC
and so you can see right here this is
the most recent one that's downloading
and 38 percent it's almost done and when
you look at this this is a four and a
half minute or sorry almost a five
minute song and it's 11 megabytes so
you're getting the full version of the
song so where does that show up on your
computer let me show you
you go to movies
and then under the folder that created a
folder called Olive soft and then you
click download and it's right here okay
so you can see 12.1 megabytes if I do
get info it shows all the info about it
including the metadata okay so it has
all the correct metadata right here the
title the song authors the album when it
was recorded and importantly the album
art now why is the album art important
for me it's important because I use
carplay so if I'm going to move this
file onto my iTunes and make a playlist
then it will have all the correct images
and all the correct song titles
which is different than if you went to
something and downloaded like say from a
torrent you know if even if you download
the whole album oftentimes the metadata
is all messed up they replace you know
the artist name or the album with
whoever torrented the uh the thing all
right so that's pretty cool right but I
also want to show you how you can do
playlists so if we go back to home here
and then let's just say we wanted to
download this daily mix number four you
can select your daily mix number four
and you can see that this is just a mix
of a bunch of songs and if I'm on
Spotify Premium I could download it here
the limitation is it would only be
available if I continue to subscribe to
Spotify and it would take up space on my
drive but what I can do is I can click
share and then copy link to playlist
okay and then when I go to aloe soft
I'll go back here and you see that
change to playlist I'll just paste it in
again anyhow just to show you and then I
can click download and it's actually
going to download the whole playlist so
in a second it's going to pop up here
would you like to download the first one
or all the videos right because it
recognizes that it's a playlist I'm
going to click all and it's going to
start downloading all these videos so
you can see that until it gets a
metadata it looks like this
thing going into like a toaster or
something but
when you download a playlist it numbers
the playlist too so if you want to keep
it in the right order you can do that so
this one is a one Lana Del Rey and then
O2 Banks with myself and then O3
uh something Elton John and you can see
that right here
that's the same order right so one two
three
and if I go into the download folder
here you'll see that they're starting to
show up so until it's totally done it's
going to be in this temporary file and
then once it's completed it's going to
pop out into the main folder so what I
would normally do I'm not going to you
know wait for the whole thing to to
download is I would normally once I've
downloaded it I would select those and
then create a new folder with selection
and then you know maybe call this um
daily mix Four right or whatever I
wanted to call it and you can see that
it's better if you wait until all of
them are done otherwise some are trapped
in me in the um temporary folder so if
you have any questions at all let me
know if you I mean for me I just find
that this saves me a lot of time and I
like getting the correct amount of data
I think that's important to me so I
really love this this is something that
that I use frequently sometimes I'll
download my Discover weekly playlist
just for fun and yeah it's pretty
awesome now if you do try this out and
it works for you come back to this video
and give it a like and let people know
in the comments that it's working
because one of the things is you know on
YouTube there's some videos and and some
some really bad quality you know
sometimes people even aren't even
speaking English in it
and
you know is that trust Factor so if you
come back and let people know that this
actually works it saves them time then
you know that would be appreciated all
right that's it for today and I will see
you in the next video
