How to drag day and date in excel
AutoFill Dates in Excel - Days, Weekdays, Months & Years

we're going to look at some quick ways
of creating a list of dates you may want
to just have concurrent dates you might
want to copy dates down the list you
might want to have dates
week commencing so you have every Monday
in a list you might only want to show
working days you make what may want the
same day each month or the same day each
year so how do you quickly create that
list of dates well if you just want some
current dates
let's put today's date in that cell trol

the shortcut key for putting today's
data and cell so we want concurrent
dates down this column very easy what
you do is you use this little fill
handle to achieve this and you'll notice
that my mouse pointer changes from a
white cross to a black cross when I
point at this fill handle the little
square and then I hold down my mouse
button and drag down and there we are
it just increments the date down that
column and also work if I was copying
across now if I wanted to copy today's
date I'd almost do the same thing but
I'd hold down control when I direct that
fill handle say I wanted every Monday so
we commence things so we'd start say on
the 10th October and then I put in the
next Monday which should be the 17th of
October and then what I would do is I'd
select both dates select both dates and
what that does is tell Excel the
increment that you want to repeat down
this column so if I place my mouse
pointer over the fill handle and drag
down that repeats that increment going
down that column so these are all
Monday's so I only wanted weekdays in my
list well what you can do is drag that
fill handle down and then watch out for
this little autofill options button that
appears bottom right of your list if I
click on that
there's an option in here fulfill
weekdays same thing is true fulfilling
months there's that want the same day
each month
again I'd fell down go too much as a
button here and I can choose fill months
for years exactly the same fill down go
to my little button fill years so there
