How to dark theme google chrome pc

00:45settings from Windows so what we have to

00:46do is we have to turn on dark mode in

00:48Windows and then Google Chrome will be

00:49in dark mode so how do we do that well

00:51let's go down to search in Windows and

00:54it's pretty easy we're gonna type in

00:56dark mode and what that does is you'll

00:58see the best match is color settings

01:00let's click into that and I don't open

01:03up the color settings there's a lot of

01:05stuff you can do here to adjust your

01:07colors of how windows appears but what

01:10we're interested in is dark mode let's

01:13scroll down to the very bottom and

01:15you'll see something that says choose

01:17your default app mode you have two

01:19options you have light which is what

01:21we're on now and it is very light and

01:23then there's another option that's

01:25called dark and let's try that out let's

01:27see what happens so here I click on dark

01:29you'll notice now that Windows is in

01:32Park mode so all my settings panes the

01:34little search box on the taskbar all of

01:36those have turned dark but the thing

01:40that you came here for is how to turn

01:42chrome dark and you'll see behind here

01:45it turned Google Chrome to dark and so

01:47let me go ahead and we'll shift that

01:48back and forth again so here I go light

01:51and then you can go to dark and you'll

01:52see chrome updated to dark mode so

01:54that's all it takes Google Chrome looks

01:57at your windows settings windows is set

01:59to dark mode and then your browser is

02:01also in dark mode now one of the things

02:04you'll notice though is the page itself

02:06so I'm on YouTube and YouTube is not in

02:09dark mode it's still very bright now the

02:11thing is the the

02:12site doesn't adopt the window setting

02:14and so YouTube doesn't what I need to do

02:16is some websites have their own specific

02:19settings where I could turn on dark mode

02:20so what I'm going to do is I'll click on

02:22the me control in the top right hand

02:24corner and then here YouTube added the

02:27functionality to turn on dark theme so

02:28I'm gonna click in that and then I'll

02:30turn on dark theme so there we go now I

02:33got dark going on going on all over not

02:35only is my Google Chrome dark but the

02:38YouTube websites dark and then also my

02:40windows is dark so now it's now now I'm

02:43kind of you know easing into the evening

02:45with all this dark mode going on and and

02:47so that's all it takes to turn on dark

02:49mode unfortunately though even though

02:50Google Chrome is set the dark mode and

02:52all the chrome is part of the browser's

02:54in dark mode let's say I go to a website

02:56like the New York Times unfortunately

02:58this is not in dark mode so now I get

03:00that bright light hitting my eyes so

03:02it's really you know now you know how to

03:05turn it on for your browser hopefully

03:06the sites you visit use it more and more

03:08starting to do that dark but it's a

03:10pretty popular thing the benefits of

03:12dark mode it's a little more easing on

03:14your eyes in the evening and let's say

03:16you're on a laptop it helps conserve

03:18some of the battery because you don't

03:19have to shine this bright light out so

03:21helps your battery last longer and

03:24that's that's all it takes to take

03:26advantage of dark mode in Google Chrome
