so here we are uh in the steeping
process
this is going to be our first water uh
for
our kalhoman barley and this is just a
simple process
of turning the lever
so that's the water on you can hear it
up above
we'll fill the steep up and then it will
stay
there for about eight hours then we'll
drain it later today
and then after a few hours we'll fill it
again
so here we are at the top of the scoop
the water's filling this deep so it
should take about 40 to 45 minutes
to cover the four tonne of barley to
about four or five inches above the
level of the barley
is about six inches clear at the top of
the barley
and what we do is we'll monitor the
temperature of the water
and that water is as you can see is
about
just over 6 degrees c
the whole molting process is all about
moisture germination so we need to keep
an eye on these things
