[Music]
and we need to run ten 3-wire from this
which would be a splice box here
eventually through this trench and all
the way back to the well in order to use
direct barrel without conduit you need
to be 24 inches on the ground per
Electrical Code if you are less than 24
inches you need to put conduit in so
anything 18 to 24 is required conduit so
I've got it hanging on the tractor here
hopefully I'm hoping this little piece
of two and a half inch 45 conduit is
gonna work with this piece of rope to
let me spool this now because this
stuff's a bugger to deal with well
that's a bugger I'm glad I saw that so
I've got a we're marking this wire so
I'm going to have to chop off seven or
eight feet of this stuff you see this
this is a where spot and you can see
exposed wires this is from rubbing and
shipping or at the store rubbing back
and forth until this was completely worn
through so I actually have to cut this
off right at that spot because I can't
use this first I don't know eight feet
so I pulled the slack back out of that
wire the wires long enough to hook up to
the panel to give us power to the well
house and this little bend is where we
need to cut it off this hole is actually
the wrong size because this fitting
needs to go into that hole and as you
can see that doesn't fit this only needs
to be a tiny bit bigger and those
already hold there so using a hole saw
is sort of challenging in this case but
it's really not so one of the tricks
I've learned is you grab a piece of
scrap wood like this two by six and we
will actually drill a hole in it with
the hole saw that's the right size and
then we'll just hold it here and use the
hole as a guide it'll make sense as I do
this
when use the bottom edge of this
sighting as a guide so I'm gonna set
this up here and line my top of my bit
up with the top of this hole just right
about there
I'll just transfer that across somewhere
roughly on the board and drilling a hole
in the wall will take it off of there
now I have a guide I just place over the
hole just like that that was the moon
shape we needed to remove in order to
get this fitting to fit in the hole this
is a one-inch lb box and glue a couple
these fitting together and we'll work
backwards just makes life a little
easier so this is still loose get a
piece of wire there
[Applause]
all right we're ready for a final water
hookup so we've got our water lines from
the house and the power is coming from
the panel and we need to pull out the
old power which goes to the temporary
well house and disconnect the old water
line which also goes the typical royal
house and get those out of the way and
hook up the new stuff looks pretty
straightforward we're just gonna take
the hose clamps off and cut the old pipe
off use a little torch and heat the pipe
up put it on there from your hose clamps
and redo the splice inside of the well
housing and we're ready to go
I'm hoping that's the last time I'm ever
inside that well alright we are going to
hook up the mainline to the house we got
to disconnect the temporary line so
we're just gonna cut this off of here
and get water in the trench and
everywhere we're gonna drain the tank
first so I don't have 40 gallons of
water to fill up my hole
[Applause]
so we've connected to the well this is
the power and this is the water we just
finished that connection up and the well
was connected with power in there you
can follow this line all the way through
the trench right up there which we're
going next
luckily for us the plumbers installed
fitting right there that is one inch
pecks a tubing to a what I hope looks
like a female 1 inch adapter and we're
going to go ahead and pull that plug out
and install the barbed fitting and
connect the black pipe to it
have you got the I so I'm letting bleed
off I don't wanna get shot in the leg
they got the isolation valve shutting
this or this lines pressurized it won't
help
various lesion valve in the garage is
here what you're hearing is air pressure
bleeding off because the house was
pressurized for the mechanical test of
the water system I drained to the other
side of the isolation valve for
different reason but from the isolation
valve in the garage to this point
they're still pressurized so I'm letting
it bleed down so when I unthread this
thing it doesn't accidentally shoot me
in the leg glad I let that bleed down I
could have been pretty bad
[Laughter]
[Music]
this section of the trench has the wire
in it so I don't need to put a blue
tracer wire in the ground for the
waterline because the wire is in the
trench with it I'm only going to put the
brick burial ribbon in the ground with
that
you
well you probably can't see very well
but I've already disconnected the
electrical portion of this I needed to
do that in order to hook up the other
portion so all we have left are
basically two pipes sticking down on the
ground that it will both just barely
sticking down we're just gonna cut them
off just connect this thing pull the
pressure tank out of here take it to the
front of the house and get ready for
install turns out we're going to put in
the tractor way to do it
here we have our supply and return to
the house and the electrical will come
through this hole we are going to put up
five eighths fire rated sheetrock over
this wall before we install the pressure
tank
the plumbers installed this assembly and
it is completely wrong for what we're
gonna do we need to reconfigure it so
we're gonna cut these two colors off and
remove this assembly and we'll we'll
build from there so you pulled that
assembly off we're going to be using
this tee and this valve in a different
location but we'll get to that a little
bit
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
tank is installed in the correct
location with the dearth quake straps
permanently attached to the way so this
type of hex is uh it's open or is the
name-brand and it's a type apex and we
are installing the valve isolation valve
back to the house so we'll play the
expansion ring on the one inch which is
a bugger to get on so now we've got our
expansion ring on there and we have our
valve now it's very important that your
valve handle so that it will be able to
operate correctly so in my case I put it
like that you would hit the law that one
works when you put it this direction so
off and on in there we just hold it for
a second till it starts to contract
alright so we've got our pipe here our
tee assembly goes in like that we're
gonna expand this out and put that
together we go I'm gonna put this in
onto that belt just about where we need
it
alright we have assembled so there is a
two inch long by one inch pipe nipple
between the tee assembly and this
adapter that goes to protects a and then
we put a pipe plug in this side source
supply comes in and pressurizes and does
all it's supposed to
oh all right
we had to run down to the hardware store
and buy two adapters because this is an
inch and a quarter check valve and my
pecs adapters only one inch so we put
two adapters in line and this is a check
valve it is oh so important that it's
absolutely massively important that you
look at the flow arrow in this case it's
this little hard to see on camera but
engraved arrow pointing this direction
towards me so this will be installed
right here in line and the well is here
so this pipe goes under the house and
down to the well so the well water comes
up through the check valve the flow of
water comes through the check valve and
into this tea the tea will then allow
water to go under the pressure tank and
then also open to the house so we need
to install this check valve with the
flow arrow going the correct way so I'm
going to set it down exactly in the way
that needs to go a slight a expander
ring on here there's our last connection
between the pressure tank and the supply
to the house or I throw a bin support on
here it's kind of in the middle and
we'll cut each side to length
so I just attached the wires from the
panel to the wires that go to the
pressure switch the switch comes back it
goes into the control board
that's the black and red and then it
goes the opposite of the right side
control which is the white black and red
this goes down to the well all of our
grounds are attached to the grounding
lug and back to themselves so this is
complete we're going through the cover
on here this is blue tracer wire and in
reality all this is is blue wire what is
this
16 gauge this needs to be run inside of
the trench with a waterline in the
location where there's no other items in
the trench for example you can see the
end of the trench right here this
section that has an electrical wire that
comes from over that way
runs down and ties into that trench
right where this little Y is out so this
whole section has wire in it so if we
had to find a water line or find some
mark the ground where there was power or
something that would be there to mark it
with in this instance we're gonna use
this tracer line inside of this small
section and transfer there's no power or
no metal
there's only plastic pipe so go throw
this in the ground and then finish
backfill so
so for a little extra protection we'll
fill in some caution tape in the line
also it's not technically required for a
water line but we're going to do it
anyway
alright this is gonna wrap up the
install for the permanent water to the
house a big picture we got the pressure
tank from the temporary house temporary
well house into the garage you've got it
all plumbed in and electrical connected
and then we connected the water main
there's a whole lot of trenching and L&I
inspections and mechanical inspections
that went along with all that but the
installment pretty well it's really
clean install it's the nicest cleanest
install I've ever got to do we did use
PEX a tubing it's tied into the water
main or tied in the water system on the
house
which is what is it it's all the rest
the house we ever made shutoff out here
in our control panel we have our inner
lock installed on our breaker on the
electrical panel
but the install went really well really
happy with it we did have to put the
sheetrock up in order to be able to put
the earthquake straps in the panel and
the plumbing through the wall correctly
to make it look really nice and that way
when the sheriff is coming to the rest
of the house they won't be blooded up
against the side of this with really
crappy mud adjoins so it'll look really
nice in the long run overall it went
really well really happy with the
install because when my checking out
somebody's I think I'll have my my
garage there's videos in this house
series of videos will have the tractor
series down there and definitely hit
that subscribe button always helps me
out in the long run until next time
thanks for watching
